Access to safe water for consumption, sanitation, and hygiene is a basic right of all human beings. However, there is an ongoing water crisis that threatens the water security of over 2 billion of our world inhabitants. India is no exception. Certain parts of the marginalised and isolated village communities still struggle to ensue from the lack of availability of clean water, which serves as a basic element to human survival.
The lack of access to safe water leads to illnesses and diseases, which causes a multitude of cyclical impacts that bring the perpetuation of the poverty cycle towards a continuous loop for the upcoming generations.
Through surveys and empirical field-based examinations, CEI has identified the catastrophic risk that the poor water quality has on the physical wellbeing of children. CEI is committed to employing sustainable solutions to alleviate this water crisis and to ensure access to safe water and good sanitation facilities by installing borewells and handpumps in the villages.
CEI recognises the importance of carrying across sustainable and environmental responsibility in all walks of life and conducts regular awareness camps on the importance of Water Conservation in these communities.
In several interior areas where clean drinking water is a challenge, CEI distributes low-cost, low-maintenance water filters that help in providing good quality potable water to the people.
