Success Story – Kaluram Ji
CEI has trained tribals like Kaluram ji into successful rural entrepreneur. Kaluram ji belongs to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group in remote hamlet in Potlaj village in Sudhagad tehsil, Raigad District, (Maharashtra). With the help of CEI, he is now successfully doing Organic farming, in past weeks had grown various crops such as turmeric, brinjal, ladyfinger, tomato, chillies, cashew etc. This is ensuring income generation and food security even during previous pandemic times.
All these crops have been grown in completely organic method with no chemical pesticide or other chemical inputs. CEI is working to enable the villages to gain a competitive advantage in organic vegetable crop production. When entire nation was reeling under the successive waves of Covid-19, CEI has been able to bring such inspirational examples of entrepreneurship, innovation and livelihood even among the most disenfranchised communities in remote rural areas.
