As part of CEI’s Empowerment initiative, CEI is taking care of the below poverty line sections including those suffering from disabilities. The marginalised sections, especially belonging to the tribal groups have many cases of such people suffering from chronic illness and disability.
People with special needs are often shunned by the communities, particularly those who are suffering from chronic illnesses like leprosy, or physical or mental impairment. In the interior rural and tribal regions, where employment opportunities are scarce, these people live in dire circumstances.
CEI supports them by providing them and their families with food and other basic essentials on a monthly basis. Wherever possible, CEI also extends medical help to these people with special needs.
