There is a huge requirement of last-mile delivery of important Government welfare schemes, basic utility services and infrastructural services in the rural areas. For this, there needs to thorough data collection at the level of each village, each family, each villager. Especially among the tribal communities in rural Mahrashtra, there is a necessity of securing basic Government ID documents such as Aadhar card, Tribal Caste Certificate, Ration card etc for these tribals.
CEI Team has been collecting and recording village level individual as well as family data of the most economically backward tribal communities and other marginalized communities. EI has also trained the tribal project officers in conducting these detailed surveys.

We have also prepared a “Needs Assessment Survey” to collect information that will help it determine the nature of Training Courses needed in a district.
Through this Initiative, CEI is ensuring that:
- The rural and tribal communities get access to government services and programmes by providing them with necessary documents.
- Facilitating opening of bank accounts using Aadhar as identity proof under schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana and get access to various Direct Benefit Transfer programs.
- The peoples can receive the various Government benefits, subsidies etc. directly linked to their bank accounts. The constitutional rights of an identity and safeguards are protected.
- The issues around health, education, malnutrition, housing etc are addressed seamlessly
Aadhar Card Camps
Aadhar card one of the most important identity proofs in the country. It is required for opening back accounts buying sim for the phone and many more things that are important in our daily lives. Most of the people in tribal community do not possess this identity proof because of which they are also excluded from various government schemes and benefits. Under this initiative, the camps are conducted in the rural areas of Maharashtra, in collaboration with the UIDAI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Tribal Caste Certificate Distribution Programme The tribal caste certificate is a proof that an individual belongs to a certain caste. This certificate helps the tribals in availing government schemes and subsidies when required. CEI has till now made more than 10,000 caste certificates.
Creating Voter-ID Cards
The Right to Vote is a legal right of every citizen in the country. Every individual’s freedom to choose their representative is the foundation of strong democracy like ours. Democracy without the right to vote is not a true democracy. It is one of the main features of the democracy of our country. In a country like India with a population of 1.3 billion it is very difficult to keep the track of each voter. To make the task simpler the government has given each individual a voter-id card. But unfortunately, many people belonging to the disenfranchised sections of the society do not possess a voter-ID card. This has kept them away from their right of selecting a representative for them and the country, To solve this problem CEI, in collaboration with the Office of the Tehsildar, Election Branch, Raigad District, is working towards providing the rural, tribal communities of the Raigad district with Voter- ID cards.

Ration Card Distribution Programmes
In collaboration with the District Administration, CEI facilitates provision of the Yellow ration cards for below the poverty line rural and tribal families. These Yellow BPL Cards empowered the individuals to be recognised as the citizens of India as Ration Cards are also an acceptable means of Identification. To prevent corruption, leakage, and diversion of PDS Ration, we enabled Aadhar cards to be linked to ration cards.
