Ayurvedic Vanaspati Rural Entrepreneurship Initiative is CEI’s pilot project in the Raigad District of Maharashtra. The project is ongoing in Phase 1. It was launched on 21st January, 2019.
- To initiate livelihood opportunities, CEIs team surveyed the villages and found that in the nearby Forest Areas of Raigad District, there are many Medicinal and Herbal Plants growing in the Forest.
- Using experienced and well-established market research, CEI confirmed that there is a substantial opportunity for developing small businesses’ of Ayurvedic-Herbal plants. CEI designed a business model where Villagers will have complete ownership of this business.
- By using specialisation economics, CEI was able to leverage the innate strength of this unique rural ecology.
CEI also strived to provide Entrepreneurship Training to the villagers alongside giving the necessary Business Support, such as the formation of Self-Help Groups, Financial Inclusion, and Financial Literacy Programmes. All these enabled CEI to complete the initial wave of our vision to generating financial empowerment and generational employment to otherwise disenfranchised villagers.
