CEI has been training tribal women in Maharashtra and other women belonging to economically backward sections in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh. Usually, self-help group members belong to homogenous socio-economic background, where women perform economic activities according to their interest areas.
Self-help Groups play an important role in the society of remote tribal and other rural areas. SHGs have helped facilitate performance of various kinds of activities in the socio-economic development of women through various entrepreneurship development initiatives in handicrafts, eco-friendly products, Warli art, organic farming, textiles, fisheries etc.
CEI has been engaged in forming and connecting these SHGs with such Entrepreneurial Initiatives bringing opportunities for substantial income generation. CEI also conducts special training sessions for women that include health awareness, women hygiene, counselling, legal awareness, financial literacy, numeracy, career guidance etc. to help them build confidence in themselves and empower not only themselves but also the entire village.
